With a $28-million dollar player option in hand for next season and the increasing probability he’s lost after that, the Pistons are reportedly testing the waters when it comes to an Andre Drummond trade prior to the February 6 deadline.

One that has been particularly involved in the discussions according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski who tweeted that Detroit and Hawks (among other interested teams) have engaged in discussions with no deal imminent.

Sitting three and a half games back of the final playoff spot in the East, it’ll be shit or get off the pot time for the Pistons over the course of these next few weeks when it comes to the second half of the season.

Hampered by large deals from Drummond as well as Blake Griffin, dealing the big man would no question open things up for Detroit and finally kick the tires on a much-needed rebuild.
