In a hot political climate in the United States, one that has divided friends and family alike, where do you Detroit sports owners loyalties lie when it comes to their own political donations?

Well a quick search on the FEC.gov website reveals where some of your hard earned money may be going when you buy tickets to see the Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings play.

Offhand, it seems like there may be some division with the Ilitch’s as most of the family seems to have had a strong GOP loyalty, Denise Ilitch looks like she’s the outlier with her DNC support including multiple donations to various Hillary Clinton fundraisers in 2016.

Chris Ilitch‘s political support however still seems to be a little up in the air as his lone donation has got to the Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.

Meanwhile, Lions owner Martha Firestone Ford has had very modest donations to Donald Trump’s fundraisers among other various political groups. Essentially though it was seem Mrs. Ford’s political contributions to Donald Trump wouldn’t fund more than a few cases of Diet Coke and a couple of trips to McDonalds.

As far as Pistons owner Tom Gores goes, he was a big time supporter of Hillary Clinton in 2016, donating a total of $50,000 to her campaign. This was on top of her pretty big donations to other various democratic fundraising groups that year.
