Win or lose in Super Bowl LIV, 2020 should be a big year financially for 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, both Lynch and Shanahan are currently in line for big-time contract extensions this upcoming offseason after the duo signed matching six-year deals in 2017.

Aside from turning the 49ers into NFC Champions and a shot at being Super Bowl champs, the duo started their tenure with a 10-22 record over their first two seasons before recording a conference-best 13-3 record in 2019. To add, Lynch’s workings from the front office and Shanahan’s ability on the sidelines has transitioned the Niners into rankings inside the top four in total offense, total defense, and rushing offense during the regular season.

Both are expected to sign their extensions prior to the start of the 2020 regular season.
