The Antonio Brown shit show with the Oakland Raiders has finally come to an end.

After a peculiar Instagram post from the embattled wide-out that ended with Brown asking for his release, the Raiders obliged ending a turbulant short run without the veteran ever taking the field for the silver and black.

That particular post by Brown was weird considering it came after both AB and the Raiders essentially buried the hatchet and were looking to move forward to Monday’s opener and the rest of the season. Brown wasn’t going to be suspended, he a apologized to his teammates and head coach Jon Gruden said he would play week one against the Broncos.

However, an even weirder video was posted by AB on Instagram just prior to the aforementioned which may have broken California’s wiretapping laws when appeared to have recorded a phone call with Gruden who was trying to convince him to come back into the fold.

You have to assume the tipping point for Brown was the Raiders voiding out the guaranteed money in his contract and fining him $200,000. Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, “Now that Antonio is a free agent, we are focused on the future and I will immediately work on signing him to a new team. Antonio is looking forward to a new beginning.”

In addition to Rosenhaus’ statement, Brown will not be subjected to waivers and will be eligible to sign with any team in the NFL.
