After an offseason that saw zero NFL offers come his way, Mark Sanchez has decided to hang up the cleats and make his way to the broadcast booth.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, “The Sanchize” has agreed to a no-brainer deal with ABC/ESPN to replace Mack Brown during ABC’s lead college football studio alongside Kevin Negandhi and Jon Vilma. Mack Brown had previously accepted a job to become North Carolina’s new head coach.

As far as Sanchez’s NFL career goes it can be seen as nothing but a huge disappointment.

After being drafted fifth overall by the New York Jets in the 2009 Draft, a rookie “Sanchize” led the Jets to the AFC Championship game and once again his sophomore season in 2010. From there though nothing seemed to go right for either Sanchez or the Jets and neither has sniffed the postseason since.

Speaking of sniff, Sanchez’s biggest claim to fame on the football field is undoubtedly the “butt fumble” which will go down in NFL infamy.

After four seasons with the Jets, Sanchez bounced around seeing playing time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington. He also spent time on the Bears and Broncos’ rosters.

Last season, Sanchez saw game time on two separate occasions in DC while making one start. Those performances, however, seemed to seal “The Sanchize’s” fate as an NFL QB as he compiled a stat line that included throwing for 138 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Wrapping up his 10-year career, Sanchez compiled a 7-36 as a starter while completing 56.6 percent of his passes for 15,357 yards, 86 touchdowns and 89 interceptions.
