It seemed like after the complete circus that was the Antonio Brown experiment in Oakland with the Raiders, the only team suitable to take on the malcontent was the New England Patriots.

Well that’s indeed what happened Saturday in the wake of AB’s release from the Silver and Black, the Pats handed the veteran wideout a deal worth up to $15 million with a $9 million signing bonus.

To add to the intrigue around this signing, the Patriots play the Steelers in week one, however given the signing just happened a few hours ago and Brown has had almost zero time to learn the New England playbook it’s hard to imagine AB gets any significant playing time against Pittsburgh.

☁️ All part of “Gods Plan”

Shortly after signing with the Patriots, AB took to Twitter and called his move to New England all part of “God’s Plan”.

Maybe it wasn’t ‘God’s Plan’ but it certainly seems like it could have been part of Brown’s. I know it seems a little Alex Jones-ish but maybe Brown’s pain in the ass approach was done in an effort to find his way to New England?

In any sense, Brown becomes the latest seemingly ubertalented yet huge headache type of player to land with the Patriots following in the footsteps of Randy Moss, Josh Gordon and others.
