Lions

Since the Lions had so much trouble last season creating a running game, protecting Stat Padford and have zero interest in bringing back Michael Ola, Quinn and company announced Friday the team signed former Atlanta Falcons tackle Lamar Holmes to a contract.

Holmes, a former third round pick by the Falcons back in 2012 started a total of 19 games over the course of the 2013 and 2014 seasons before a broken foot ultimately punched his ticket out of Atlanta.

But it’s not that this is some undying solution to the Lions’ problems on the offensive line last season, it’s at least addressing a need with a guy who isn’t on the wrong end of 30.

Expect the 26-year old Holmes to rotate in and out of the right tackle position next season.
