Matthew Stafford has had his up and downs throughout his professional career with he Lions. He also seems to carry a love/hate relationship with the fans of Detroit as Lions fans are either firmly in the camp of Stafford or try and lead the charge to get him out of town. Either way I’m sure we can all agree that Stafford as a pro hasn’t been great nor has he been completely god awful.

But what about the most overrated in the NFL?

According to the SportingNews, Stafford was listed as the most overrated quarterback in all the NFL behind the likes of Matt Ryan of the Falcons, Jay Cutler of the Bears, Sam Bradford of the Eagles and Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Texas.

Here’s what SN had to say:

Additionally, SN also named former Lions running back Reggie Bush as the most overrated RB in the league.

Stafford though is an interesting selection nonetheless. Yes he’s been given weapon after weapon on the offensive side of the ball. But at the same time you can’t help but question some of the scheming from the coaching staff who if you’re going to lump in Stafford as a disappointment you’d may as well direct some of that ire towards the guys calling the plays on the sidelines.

What do you think?
