Arian Foster

Could Arian Foster be a member of the Lions in 2016?

The former Houston Texans running back who missed a majority of last season due to a achilles injury will work out for the Lions next week according to ProFootballTalk.com via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Prior to having his season ended in week four, Foster rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown while adding two touchdowns and 227 yards through the air. He also graded out at a 63.7 according to Pro Football Focus which lumped him in as a backup according to their metrics. Despite the limited time, this would place him of higher value (in 2015) than Ameer Abdullah‘s 61.2 ranking and just below Theo Riddick‘s 65.2.

Foster will be 30 once the 2016 season starts so there’s no telling what else he has left in the tank, especially given his injury concerns the past few seasons. If he could continue to trend though in the direction he was going last season prior to week four, he would be a sight upgrade for Detroit at the running back position for 2016.

In addition to the Lions, Foster will work out for the Dolphins Monday and has been linked to the Denver Broncos.
