Xander Schauffele shot his way to a bogey-free 65 to win the British Open Sunday, securing his second major title of 2024.
Schauffele finished at nine-under carding six under 65 and two shots better than Justin Rose who finished second.
In typical fashion for the British Open, weather made things difficult especially in the third round as golfers found it difficult to find any separation.
Billy Horschel held the lead through 54 holes, however, Schauffele’s birdie on No. 13 and Thriston Lawrence’s bogey on the 12th put Schauffele in a position he didn’t look back from.
Instead of making his way to the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota, Schauffele will go to Paris to represent Team USA at the Summer Olympics as the men’s side looks to defend their gold medal from Tokyo.
