Talented Boston Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts ran into some issues with his Twitter account after Wednesday night’s victory over the Chicago White Sox. The issue came when he accidentally tweeted out a picture of a woman in a thong with the caption “L” right below.
Embarrassing nonetheless, especially when you have to assume it was meant to be a direct message to someone. Either way Bogaerts deleted his entire Twitter account after the mishap which in retrospect of athlete stupidity on social media isn’t that bad. Bogaerts though told the Providence Journal that he didn’t want to be a distraction to the team which is certainly understandable.
Red Sox manager John Farrell called it a mistake and said it was time to move on.
“No one’s perfect,” said Bogaerts. “Be a man and just face the situation.”
