Zelina Vega has been released by the WWE.
News of this surfaced Friday evening after the WWE announced the move on their website stating, “WWE has come to terms on the release of Zelina Vega. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Ironically the move came after Vega posted her support for unionization on Twitter.
At this point its unclear the circumstances surrounding Vega’s release, whether that be she requested it or the WWE were acting on anything behind the scenes. What is known, however, is that Vega was one of many superstars who ran a successful Twitch channel which the WWE has recently prohibited their superstars from using, along with any other third-party app that the WWE cannot capitalize off of.
Additionally, Vega has also started a non-nudity Only Fans account for her cosplays under the name Megan Minx.
Shortly after her release she put up a post on Instagram with the caption “see you on Twitch”.
I can only imagine that Vega wasn’t putting up with any of the WWE’s bullshit behind the scenes after steps were taken by Vince McMahon to further limit wrestlers from being able to earn money their own likenesses.
Vega’s release though is will be ultimately WWE’s loss.
The longtime veteran of the industry, Vega has proven to be one of the best superstars on the WWE roster when it came to the mic and has shown plenty of promise with her in-ring work.
Then you have to wonder how any of this will affect Aleister Black who is married to Vega.
Hopefully, though superstars signed to WWE can begin to step up and speak out more collectively. Obviously, one worker speaking out about unionization is easily silenced as Vega proved. However, if you get more superstars on-board with unionization or WWE’s bloodsucking policy against third-party apps you can eventually get Vince McMahon by the balls.
Total solidarity with Vega.
