WORLD SERIES: RANGERS EVEN UP SERIES BEHIND HOLLANDS GEM

In a series that has all the makings of going 7 games, the Texas Rangers were able to even things up 2-2 after their 4-0 shutout of the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday night.

Rangers starter, 25-year-old Derek Holland threw an absolute gem going 8.1 innings allowing no-runs on two-hits. Furthermore, Holland retired 16 of the first 17 batters he faced, and he set down 24 of the 26 he faced through eight innings. Holland was also able to hold Albert Pujols hitless a night after Pujols went off on Rangers pitching hitting 3 home runs.

Meanwhile, Cardinals starter Edwin Jackson flirted with blowups time and time again. In 5.1 innings Jackson allowed a total of 10 base runners and only had one, 1-2-3 inning during the 3rd.

Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli accounted for the Rangers’ RBIs. Napoli, who continues to have an excellent postseason for Texas belted a 3-run home run in 6th inning off Cardinals reliever Mitchell Boggs.

The World Series resumes Monday night in Texas for Game 5.
