Wings sign defenseman Mike Commodore

The Wings made their first free agent signing (that wasn’t one of their own) when they signed defenseman Mike Commodore to a one-year contract worth $1 million dollars.

What’s interesting about this signing is Commodore has a history with head coach Mike Babcock that started back in the early 2000’s when both were in Anaheim. Commodore believe that Babcock hindered his development as a player which eventually led to Commodore ripping Babcock more a few years ago while he played with Columbus.

This is a definite low risk depth move made by Wing GM Ken Holland.

Commodore last played for the Blue Jackets before they bought out his contract.
