The Wings look to keep the offense rolling tonight when they take on the Phoenix Coyotes tonight at 9PM ET from the Jobing.com Arena (or Hockeytown West).
Aside from the offense, the Wings are also looking to keep their defense rolling as they’ve only let up six goals within their last four games.
“Three of them (out of the last four) don’t count because they were at home, in my opinion,” coach Mike Babcock said after today’s morning skate. “What I mean by that is … we were No. 1 in goals-against on the road last year and this year we’re not very good.
“You got to play good without the puck if you’re going to be successful. Then you have the puck all the time and you have lots of offense. We’ve been able to do that at home and committed to doing that. We haven’t been on the road.”
The Wings are also looking to get back to .500 on the road (12-13-0) and move into first place (temporarily) overall in the NHL.
There will be some lineup adjustments tonight as well.
Forward Cory Emmerton and defenseman Jakub Kindl will be inserted back into the lineup tonight replacing Jan Mursak and Mike Commodore.
