It seems as though the logical solution for Joe Flacco’s new deal would fall between an elite level (Tom Brady, Drew Brees, etc) QB and a second tier QB.
BUT is it possible that logistics are thrown out the window when discussing a new contract for a quarterback that in a way has been somewhat underwhelming?
“If the game is about wins and losses, he has to be in the top five [quarterbacks],” Flacco’s agent Joe Linta indicated to Matt Vensel of the Baltimore Sun. “He is a player who has been extremely durable, never missed a game. And he’s done something that no one has ever done. In his four years in the league, he has never missed a game and has more wins than any other quarterback.”
There’s no argument to what Joe Linta is laying down. He is very durable and it’s great that he hasn’t missed a game. But his wins at this point are overshadowed by the fact that the Ravens still haven’t been to the Super Bowl with Flacco under center.
Get that Super Bowl and get the pay-day.
