Was Notre Dame stealing signs during last year’s MSU/ND game?

There’s no doubt that Michigan State has a huge task in hand this week when they head to South Bend to take on what’s assumed to be a very hungry Notre Dame team. After last week’s stunning loss to Michigan, Notre Dame should be coming out with guns blazing, especially at home.

However looking back on last year’s game, it’s being speculated that the Irish were stealing signs. The speculation stems from MSU defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi who believes Notre Dame were stealing defensive signals last season.

“They don’t look to the sidelines as much (normally), but against us they did for some reason,” Narduzzi said. “Whether they’re stealing our signals, I don’t know. But we’ve got something (changed this year) on the signals too. You never know. Guys are thieves, you know.”

To combat this, Narduzzi says on Saturday there will be four different individuals throwing out signals to the field with three of the four throwing out fake signals.
