If you thought Ray Rice knocking his fiancee out was bad there’s other breaking news with an NFL player that potentially could be worse. A lot worse.
According to Fox Houston, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been indicted in Montgomery County, Texas, for reckless or negligent injury to a child meaning a dark week for the NFL just got darker.
There’s not a ton available yet, however Peterson has an offseason home according to Deadspin in the Houston suburb The Woodlands which is in Montgomery County.
According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, Peterson is cooperating with law enforcement officials and will turn himself in which makes his status for this weekend unknown.
With indictment Peterson will have to turn himself in and thus his status for this weekend is now unclear

As some of you may remember, Adrian Peterson’s infant son was killed last year after the boyfriend of the mother beat the child to death. Unfortunately you can’t make this stuff up and we’ll have more as it becomes available.
UPDATE: Child Protective Services confirmed to TMZ that the incident involved Peterson’s 11-year old son while Fox Houston is reporting that the allegations stem from Peterson ‘beating his son’ with what’s described as by Ian Rapoport as a ‘switch’:
Arrest of Adrian Peterson (reported by @MarkBermanFox26) stems from the disciplining of a son with a switch, source says. He’s been indicted

UPDATE: It’s now being reported that Peterson’s son in question is 4-years old and not 11 like previously reported.
