Saturday night, Wichita State hit seven straight late three pointers to sink No. 1 Gonzaga further putting the West Region’s bracket into total chaos.
It wasn’t just the final minutes though of the second half in which the Shockers were successful from beyond the arc. On the night Wichita State was 14 of 28 from downtown and 25/50 from the field.
Ron Baker and Cleanthony Early each had 16 points to lead the Shockers into the Sweet 16.
Meanwhile, aside from pounding the offensive glass for 21 boards, the Zags shot just .356 from the field as they once again failed to live up to expectations in the Tournament.
