Montreal’s George Parros went down literally tonight doing what he does best.
In his second fight of the night with fellow enforcer Colton Orr of the Maple Leafs, Parros fell face first onto the ice after Orr lost his footing. It certainly was a scary scene from the Bell Centre opening night as Parros appeared to of knocked himself out before attempting to leave the ice on his own power. The Candadien doctors instead though called for the stretcher after Parros obviously didn’t look right after the fall.
Habs say George Parros has a concussion but he was alert and conscious when taken to hospital.

Incidents like this tonight is exactly what the NHL wants to avoid especially after establishing rules where players must leave their helmets on during fights. Unfortunately there really wasn’t anything that could be done in this case since Parros fell on his face instead of on a protected area of his head.
Nonetheless it appears as though Parros is going to be okay as the fighting in hockey debate will continue to rage on this season.
