Louisville guard Kevin Ware suffered not only one of the worst injuries in NCAA history but sports history altogether.
During the first half of the Cardinals’ Elite 8 match-up with Duke, Ware landed awkwardly on his leg when defending a three pointer and immediately went to the ground. Laying next to his team’s bench, many of the Louisville players turned their head in horror while Cardinals players (and Duke players alike) went to the ground in utter shock and dismay over what happened.
Several Louisville players appeared to vomit on the bench

I have never seen teammates react to an injury like this. The whole team can't bear to watch. This is college hoops' Theismann.

Pitino wiping away tears on the bench. My God, what a surreal scene.

Worst thing I've ever seen on a basketball court.

Horrible, horrible scene. Chane Behanan sobbing. Russ crying. This is awful.

Rick Pitino on Ware: "Basically the bone popped out of his skin. It will take a year for him to come back. Same injury as Michael Bush."

Pitino will stay here in Indianapolis tonight to be with Ware when he gets out of surgery.

Ware had his bone re-set, the wound from the injury closed and a rod inserted in his right tibia during a two-hour surgery.

After the game there was a nice scene as Louisville celebrated their victory with Ware’s jersey. The Cardinals also refused to cut down the net much like they did in the Big East Tournament.
Finally, here’s the video of the Ware injury. Please note that this is very gruesome so watch at your own risk.
