That’s exactly what happened when Team USA luger Erin Hamlin handed her bronze medal over to teammate Kate Hansen for a ceremonial ‘dance-blessing’.
The special treatment for this particular medal was especially the case since Hamlin’s bronze was the first medal won by an American female ever.
It makes you wonder though what could’ve been done if a gold was won?
