Already testy after his Orange were eliminated in the Final Four by No. 4 Michigan, Jim Boeheim perhaps took out some frustrations on CBS’s Gregg Doyel.
Boeheim’s outburst came during the post game press conference when Doyel asked the head coach if he was going back to Syracuse next season. Boeheim took offense to the question and fired back at Doyel. And according to The Big Lead, after a minute of going back and fourth Doyel left the presser as Boeheim got one last shot in saying “you don’t have to run out … thin-skinned.”
Doyel eventually made his way back into the room as and Boeheim apologized. Apparently though Boeheim’s attitude towards Doyel stems from an article he wrote on former Syracuse assistant Bernie Fine.
I got Boeheim alone after, & apologized for the column I wrote after the Bernie Fine deal. Told him I was reeling from Penn St. Went too far
