If you need a definition for irony you got it during the first inning of tonight’s All-Star Game.
As Derek Jeter leadoff the game in his final All-Star Game, most fans at Target Field were giving the Yankee shortstop and future Hall of Famer a standing ovation. There was though one clown chanting OVERRR-RAAATED during the at-bat that was heard clearly on the FOX broadcast.
So what does Jeter do next? He just hits a double off Wainwright to right field…
That’s right… sit down.
Oh yeah, Jeter eventually scored too after Trout’s triple.
