Auburn corner Chris Davis returned a missed Alabama field goal attempt 100-yards with no time left in regulation to give the Tigers an incredible 34-28 victory in what may be the most incredible finish in Iron Bowl history.
Not only that this may go down as one of the greatest games in college football history.
After replay review determined one second remained on the clock for Alabama, kicker Adam Griffith’s field goal attempt appeared to be on it’s way before it lost steam in the back of the end zone to a waiting Davis. Taking it out the cornerback received a series of blocks from the Auburn special teams as his momentum almost carried him out of bounds along the Tiger sideline. And after a series of amazing plays within the sequence itself, Davis ended the game and essentially Alabama’s hopes of a repeat National Championship.
