Vancouver Canucks to throwback Millionaires jerseys this month

vancouver-millionaires-1

On March 16th the Canucks will breakout throwback Vancouver Millionaires jerseys when they take on the Detroit Red Wings.

The Millionaires, originally of the PCHA and WCHL won the Stanley Cup one-time in 1915 when the defeated the Ottawa Senators of the NHA. The Millionaires, who eventually became the Maroons (not to be confused with the Montreal Maroons) last played as an organization in 1926 where thereafter they folded.

Now although the Canucks are not affiliated with the original Millionaires/Maroons in anyway, these throwbacks sure beat the hell out of the hideous red, yellow and black V jersey’s the team wore during the 80’s.

Come to think of it, the Canucks have had some pretty awful jerseys over the years.
