Holly Holm‘s reign as the women’s bantamweight champion in UFC has come to an end.

In her first title defense since defeating Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in November of last year, Holm was choked out by challenger Miesha Tate in the 5th round at UFC 196 from Las Vegas Saturday night.

Now the MMA world will turn their attention to the probable rematch between Tate and Ronda Rousey, who texted UFC president Dana White last night saying ‘back to work for me’.

Rousey has successfully defeated Tate on two different occasions, the first time back in 2012 for the Strikeforce title where she submitted Tate in the second round with an arm bar after dislocating her (Tate) elbow.

Almost a year later, Rousey once again defeated Tate at UFC 168 to successfully defend her bantamweight championship. This came via an armor in the third round.
