TMSNX’s 2015 MLB Predictions

Mike Trout

TMSNX-Detroit’s Jason Bray

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Chicago White Sox
AL West: Los Angeles Angels
AL Wild Card 1: Detroit Tigers
AL Wild Card 2: Seattle Mariners

AL Cy Young: LHP Chris Sale – Chicago White Sox
AL MVP:  1B Miguel Cabrera – Detroit Tigers

NL East: Washington Nationals
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL West: San Francisco Giants
NL Wild Card 1: San Diego Padres
NL Wild Card 2: Atlanta Braves

NL Cy Young: RHP James Shields – San Diego Padres
NL MVP: C Buster Posey – San Francisco Giants

American League Champion: Los Angeles Angels
National League Champion: Washington Nationals

World Series Champion: Washington Nationals

Why the Angels: The American League features a battle of 88 to 90 win teams. Los Angeles is one of the few complete teams with hitting, starting pitching, and a shutdown Closer.

Why the Nationals: Let’s face it, the Nats are loaded. This might be the best pitching staff ever assembled. In the National Leagye this staff carries them to them to a division crown.

Why the Nationals win it all: The leagues most ridiculous pitching staff carries Washington to face Baseball’s Golden Boy. Pitching is premium in the playoffs and the Nationals just have too much.

TMSNX El-Presidente Adam Hernandez

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Detroit Tigers
AL West: Los Angeles Angels
AL Wild Card 1: Seattle Mariners
AL Wild Card 2: Chicago White Sox

AL MVP: 1B Jose Abreu – Chicago White Sox
AL Cy Young: RHP Felix Hernandez – Seattle Mariners

NL East: Washington Nationals
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Wild Card 1: Pittsburgh Pirates

NL MVP: CF Andrew McCutchen – Pittsburgh Pirates
NL Cy Young: LHP Clayton Kershaw – Los Angeles Dodgers

American League Champion: Boston Red Sox
National League Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers

World Series Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers

Why the Red Sox: The Red Sox have a rare mix of a team that has a stellar farm system that can contend now. A veteran presence, deep roster and amazing prospects is a formula for success.

Why the Dodgers: Top to bottom they’re the most talented team in the National League and probably the entire MLB.

Why the Dodgers will win it all: Having the luxury to hand the ball off to Kershaw twice in a series means a World Series title for the boys in blue.

TMSNX Legal Analyst Michael Cullen

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Detroit Tigers
AL West: Seattle Mariners

AL Wild Card 1: Toronto Blue Jays
AL Wild Card 2: Cleveland Indians

AL Cy Young: RHP Felix Hernandez – Seattle Mariners
AL MVP: CF Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels

NL East: Washington Nationals
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Wild Card 1: Pittsburgh Pirates
NL Wild Card 2: San Diego Padres

NL Cy Young: LHP Clayton Kershaw – Los Angeles Dodgers
NL MVP: 1B Anthony Rizzo – Chicago Cubs

American League Champion: Boston Red Sox
National League Champion: Washington Nationals

World Series Champion: Washington Nationals

Why the Red Sox: The Sox are deep even though I am skeptical about that Sandoval deal and they will trade for a true #1 pitcher at the deadline.

Why the Nationals: The two best teams are in the National League (Dodgers and Nationals), but the Nats have a slightly better rotation (more likely to stay healthy + less likely to choke = NL Champs).

Other notes: The race for the last few playoff spots in the American League will be a mess and super exciting till the very end. I expect fans in the Bronx and Oakland to be heartbroken… The National League has less intrigue, but it will be nice to see the Padres, Marlins, Cubs, and Mets relevant again.

TMSNX Vice President Adam Waltersdorf

AL East: Baltimore Orioles
AL Central: Detroit Tigers
AL West: Seattle Mariners

AL Wild Card 1: Houston Astros
AL Wild Card 2: Los Angeles Angels

AL Cy Young: LHP David Price – Detroit Tigers
AL MVP: CF Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels

NL East: Washington Nationals
NL Central: Pittsburgh Pirates
NL West: San Diego Padres
NL Wild Card 1: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Wild Card 2: St. Louis Cardinals

NL Cy Young: LHP Clayton Kershaw – Los Angeles Dodgers
NL MVP: RF Bryce Harper – Washington Nationals

American League Champion: Seattle Mariners
National League Champion: Washington Nationals

World Series Champion: Washington Nationals

Why the Mariners: The Mariners have won the off-season World Series and all their young pitching talent is ready for the big show. Kyle Seager, Robinson Cano, and Nelson Cruz should make a powerful middle of the order.

Why the Nationals: So. Much. Pitching. The Nationals everyday line-up isn’t healthy at all right now, but once they are, look out, freight train coming. They may have some issues with 7th inning relief, but those type players can be found mid-season in a trade for cheap.

Why the Nationals will win it all: Like I said before, pitching for days. This rotation will lead the Nationals to the promised land and an World Series title.

TMSNX Radio’s Shawn Bell

AL East: Toronto Blue Jays
AL Central: Detroit Tigers
AL West: Los Angeles Angels

AL Wild Card 1: Seattle Mariners
AL Wild Card 2: Cleveland Indians

AL Cy Young: LHP Chris Sale – Chicago White Sox

NL Cy Young: RHP Adam Wainwright – St. Louis Cardinals
NL MVP: 1B Anthony Rizzo – Chicago Cubs

American League Champion: Los Angeles Angels
National League Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers

World Series Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers

Why the Angels: I feel they got better with Hamilton out of the lineup and letter C.J. Cron get a full season under his belt and Matt Joyce will prove the power and defense that Hamilton provided.

Why the Dodgers: The team is just ridiculous good and has so much talent on defense and offense and will make sure this year they will win and not get beaten by the Cardinals again for the second straight time

Why the Dodgers will win it all: I think it would be awesome to see a showdown in LA, to see who the better team is and I think the Dodgers just have the more well rounded team in LA. #Kershawisafreak

TMSNX Los Angeles’ Ryan DePaul

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Chicago White Sox
AL West: Los Angeles Angels

AL Wild Card 1: Detroit Tigers

NL Cy Young: LHP Clayton Kershaw – Los Angeles Dodgers
NL MVP: CF Andrew McCutchen – Pittsburgh Pirates

American League Champion: Los Angeles Angels
National League Champion: St. Louis Cardinals

World Series Champion: Los Angeles Angels.

Why the Angels: The Angels will have Richards healthy and Shoemaker isn’t a fluke. They will also likely add a piece during the season. Hungry after last years exit by Kansas City.

Why the Cardinals: The Cards always do it right. If Molina is healthy they will continue to be successful. Without Molina they struggled and when he returned last season they got much better. Also, Wainwright will decline but Wacha will be healthy and reliable unlike last year.
