Tigers still talking to Dodgers about Kuroda

According to Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports, the Tigers are still in discussions with the Los Angeles Dodgers about right handed starter Hiroki Kuroda.

The notable obstacle is Kuroda’s full no trade clause which according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, Kuroda hasn’t ruled any team out.

“Kuroda has not ruled any team out, in his discussions with the Dodgers related to his no-trade clause, and so the Dodgers will take the offers to him on a case-by-case basis, if they have something serious arranged. The Red Sox are one of those teams for which Kuroda would be a nice fit, especially considering the reality that Boston doesn’t know when Clay Buchholz will be coming back.”

Kuroda however told Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times that he likes pitching in LA and is unsure if he would waive his no trade clause. It was also suggested that Kuroda could waive the no trade clause, leave as a two-month rental then re-sign with the Dodgers next season. If that’s that case teams need to be certain that they could potentially get something done with Kuroda part of their rotation.

The New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers are also reportedly interested in Kuroda.
