Ever since the WWE ultimately decided to go ahead with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia this coming Friday – despite that country’s government murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi – pro wrestling’s biggest promotion has come under some well deserved scrutiny. Some of that scrutiny has come from HBO’s John Oliver who this past weekend didn’t pull any punches in his continued criticism towards the pro-wrestling company who seems more interested in closing their eyes and covering their ears to continue to do business with a country run by a backwards, murderous regime.

Then again, how shocked can anyone be over the WWE deciding to move forward with Crown Jewel and essentially decide to say ‘fuck the optics’? This is the same company that last week thought it would be a good idea to use Roman Reigns’ very real leukemia announcement to help enhance the storyline of Dean Ambrose turning on Seth Rollins.
