The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at WrestleMania 33

WrestleMania

Well WrestleMania 33 is in the books… Here’s what we thought of the biggest night in pro wrestling.

The Good

The Hardy Boyz make their return

What would WrestleMania be without some kind of big surprise? This year it was the Hardy Boyz making their return to the WWE and winning the RAW Tag Titles in their signature ladder match. Now as great as their return was, it would seem that adding them to the Smackdown roster would have been more beneficial to the WWE considering the lack of intrigue when it comes to the lackluster tag team division on the blue program. Nonetheless I’m hoping the duo is bringing their broken gimmick with them.

The Women’s Matches

As much as the Hardy Boyz stole the show tonight, the women’s matches were really kind of a dark horse. In a show that was packed full of uninspiring matches, the women delivered and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying this but Charlotte Flair may be one of the best wrestlers on the ENTIRE roster.

Stephanie McMahon going through a table

You have to hand it to Stephanie after she went through a table at the conclusion of the Seth Rollins and Triple H match.

Gronk propels Mojo Rawley to victory in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal

Rob Gronkowski making an appearance was the other big surprise as the Patriots star helped get Mojo Rawley the win in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. It was a nice swerve considering just about everyone thought this was going to Braun Stroman.

The Bad

Very anti climatic

Despite was was listed above, the other matches were very uninspiring and quite frankly kind of boring. Shane McMahon and A.J. Styles was slow, everyone knew what was coming with the Jericho/Owens and Goldberg/Lesnar outcome. Plus the Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton bout for the WWE title may have been the most boring match of the night.

There’s always RAW tomorrow night and Smackdown LIVE on Tuesday to tie up the loose ends but the writers are going to have their work cut out for them this week.

The WWE is going to still and try to shove Roman Reigns down our throats

The WWE won’t give up on this whole Roman Reigns thing.

Despite him being hated by fans, Vince McMahon still wont give up his push and sealed that direction tonight by having Reigns down the Undertaker in a main event that left you wondering why in the hell you waited up for that?

I really don’t have anything against Reigns, however the creative team seems to be missing golden opportunities to make better use of the character week in and week out.
