The White Sox have acquired outfielder Jarrod Dyson from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for international pool money according to Jeff Passan of ESPN and Jon Heyman of the MLB Network.
With a .157/.218/.157 slash line in 21 games for the Pirates this season it’s obvious the White Sox aren’t looking for any kind of return investment on Dyson’s offense. Nor should the Sox depend on rejuvenating any kind of lost plate production on a career OPS of .651. Dyson’s strength is turning walks and singles into doubles going four-for-four in stolen bases this season while encompassing a 53.6 career BsR.
