If you enjoy a nice good kick to the crotch after the Milwaukee Brewers had their foot stuck up your ass all day then you’re going to love this…

In the wake of the Milwaukee Brewers’ 19-0 shelling of the Tigers, the team made a series of moves that included activating Jordan Zimmermann off the 45-day IL just time to make his season debut tomorrow in a double-header against the Cardinals.

MLive.com:

Jordan Zimmermann is coming back for one final hurrah in a Detroit Tigers uniform.

Zimmermann will be reinstated from the 45-day injured list and start in Game 2 of the Tigers’ doubleheader on Thursday at St. Louis.

The Tigers also selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Nick Ramirez, who was the Tigers’ most prolific reliever in 2019 but had spent the entire summer at the alternate site in Toledo.

Hmm… not exactly the return fans can get excited about with their team in the middle of a playoff race. Likewise you can’t really equate this to some big deadline deal for a postseason push. It’s simply just the Tigers trying to squeeze any value out of a $110 million dollar mistake that will finally come to an end after this season.

Anyways, Zimmermann and Ramirez will take the roster spots of right-handed relievers John Schreiber and Kyle Funkhouser who were sent to Toledo after today’s huge embarrassing failure.

And lastly, outfielder JaCoby Jones and pitcher Ivan Nova were moved to the 45-day IL to make room on the 40-man roster effectively ending their respective seasons. For Nova, this likely ends his stay with the Tigers who I can’t imagine will re-invest considering the veterans 8.53 ERA over 19 innings pitched.
