After 6 hours of meeting in Manhattan, there is still hope for an entire NBA season. While most of the players would be getting ready to start training camps and shoot arounds at their team facilities, they’re playing overseas instead. At least a lot of the players in the NBA are showing that they’re staying active and are working on their game. However, back to the NBA lockout status. On August 1st, both sides met, talked and stated that they would be talking more throughout the month of August. That never happened. This time around, David Stern has stated that “there is clearly enough time” to get a deal done by the start of the season (November 1st).
The commissioner says that but what’s really being said is that both sides are far apart and I can see why because there were reports that there was another meeting scheduled for September 15th but the NBA quickly responded and said that there is no timetable for another meeting. How can you possibly say that there is enough “time” for you boneheads to get a deal done but yet there are no reports on when all of you are going to meet in a big room again to talk about what happens next? Between the NBA and the NFL, I don’t know who’s more stubborn. I mean come on, we’re talking about greedy owners and greedy players fighting over hundreds of millions of dollars.
