After losing a total of seven assistant coaches this offseason, including offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, the Lions announced their 2025 coaching staff, which also included some incumbents who assumed some new titles.
Among the changes include Kelvin Sheppard being promoted from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator. At the same time, the team also brought on Denverโs passing game coordinator John Morton to assume the role as the Lionsโ new offensive coordinator.

On the defensive side, August Mangin, Caleb Collins, and Dre Thompson were previously unannounced until today. Jim OโNeil worked with the Lionsโ safeties last season in an unofficial capacity.
