Here we go, the final injury report is in as the Lions brace for the start of the regular season this Sunday night when they host Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams in a rematch of the NFC Wild Card Game from last season.
The news is pretty good coming out of practice today with no surprises as DT D.J. Reader (quad) is listed as “questionable”, S Ifeatu Melifanwu (ankle) as “doubtful”, and S Loren Strickland (thumb) is listed as “out” for Sunday.
Reader and Melifonwu were limited participants in practice all week while Strickland didn’t touch the practice field.
Meanwhile, the news wasn’t as good for the Rams who’ll be without starting defensive back Darious Williams who was placed on the IR and will be out for at least the first four games of the season. Obviously, this is something Ben Johnson and the Lions’ offense will look to exploit Sunday, as the LA defensive line is now without future hall of famer Aaron Donald who retired during the offseason.
