With the NBA trade deadline still a week away the Clippers are wasting zero time modifying their roster as they currently sit in play-in territory at the beginning of February.

Hereā€™s Woj with the news:

TheĀ LA ClippersĀ are acquiringĀ Portland Trail BlazersĀ veteransĀ Norman PowellĀ andĀ Robert CovingtonĀ in a trade that sendsĀ Eric Bledsoe,Ā Justise Winslow,Ā Keon JohnsonĀ and a 2025 second-round draft pick to Portland, sources told ESPN on Friday.

The Clippers will send a 2025 second-round pick via theĀ Detroit Pistons, sources said.

For the Clippers, Powell should provide an offensive boost averaging 18.7 points per game this season while shooting 40.6 percent from downtown. This also couldnā€™t have come at a better time for the Clippers who will probably be without Kawhi Leonard for the rest of the season as he continues to recover from a torn ACL while Paul George remains sidelined indefinitely with that elbow injury.

As far as Covington goes, heā€™s, unfortunately, suffering one of the least productive seasons of his career from an offensive standpoint averaging 7.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. However, defensively Covington could fit in as a nice defensive wing averaging 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game while having the ability to guard multiple positions.
