The Cardinals turned the MLB’s first triple play in nine years

For the first time since 2005 Major League Baseball saw a triple play.

It came during the bottom of the 6th inning in Toronto when a liner off the bat of Jose Bautista went right to second baseman Daniel Descalso. And with the bases juiced Descalso tossed the ball to shortstop Jhonny Peralta who then threw it down to first base to get Melky Cabrera.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the 4-6-3 triple play.
