Ann Arbor

Letโ€™s not beat around the bush here, the rivalry looked to be at a lull heading into last nightโ€™s match between Michigan and Michigan State. With both teams looking like shit to start the season and the Lions being one of the best teams in the NFL there simply wasnโ€™t a whole lot of interest in what was happening last night from a statewide perspective. Sure, this is a game diehards will be all about every single season, but if both teams are going to suck, which is exactly what we may have the next few seasons then the rivalry needed a spark.

Colston Loveland perhaps provided that spark in the wake of Michiganโ€™s 24-17 win over โ€œlil broโ€.

In the immediate postgame, Loveland who traded blows with Michigan Stateโ€™s Anthony Jones told the Big Ten Network that โ€œLil bro stays doing lil bro things, ya know.โ€ Loveland added, โ€œMSU is lil bro. They can do whatever they want. We knew it was going to be chippy, but everything within the confines of the game we do right, and then after if they want to get busy, weโ€™ll get busy.โ€

Itโ€™s great Michigan won even considering where the season is at right now. It also shouldnโ€™t have to be said that you NEVER want to lose this game. Not to mention, Lovelandโ€™s takedown post-game just made the win that much better.
