Terrelle Pryor has finally overcome a major hurdle on his way to becoming an NFL player.
The NFL announced Thursday that former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor will be eligible for the NFL supplemental draft but that his eligibility doesn’t come without consequence.
According to the Associated Press and SI.com, Pryor cannot practice with his potential team until week 6 of the NFL’s regular season. The NFL handed down this de facto suspension due to his unwillingness to cooperate with the NCAA during their investigations of Ohio State.
“We accept that voluntarily,” Pryor’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Associated Press. “It’s a small price to pay for him to have a chance to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL.”
In the broad sense of things this is a relatively small price to pay given what could’ve happened to him IF he would’ve stayed at OSU. Yet you have to give the NFL credit for taking some type of action against college athletes who try to find asylum in the NFL.
Too bad they didn’t do anything to Pete Carroll.
