“I feel that if I do, then I’m doing a (disservice) to my teammates and not playing to my best ability if I’m thinking about that instead of thinking about getting after the ball and getting after the quarterback
Browns’ backup QB Seneca Wallace believes that the league should suspend the rookie DT for this actions against Delhomme…
“He already face-masked him, then he grabs him by the neck, twists it and throws him down,” Wallace told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “To me, that’s something you can get suspended for, I think.”
Suh also mentioned that this isn’t the first time he has been flagged for having his way with an opposing QB…
“I’ve slung quarterbacks before and not gotten personal fouls, half slung a quarterback and gotten a personal foul,” Suh said. “That’s what the referees are out there for, to make that judgment, whether it was a personal foul or not.”
The league will probably come to a decision on the hit either later tonight or tomorrow morning. While it is possible that Suh could be suspended for the first regular season game against Chicago it is more likely that they hand him a fine.
Now being a Lions fan myself, I am being a little bit of a hypocrite regarding the matter (at least I can admit it I guess). I loved seeing Suh throw Delhomme down to the ground yet I know I would be upset if it was Stafford being thrown down and I’m sure many Lions fans would feel the same way. Bottom line I’m glad Delhomme didn’t get hurt, I’m glad to see energy coming out of Suh I just hope he learns to contain it and doesn’t get suspended.
