Streaking Wings make it 20 straight

The Philadelphia Flyers did everything they could to prevent the Red Wings from joining an exclusive club consisting of only the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and 1976-76 Philadelphia Flyers. Even if that meant pulling their goaltender while a man down.

However in the end the Flyers shared the same fate as the 19 teams before them on the Joe Louis Arena ice as the Wings won their 20th straight home game with a 4-3 victory.

Detroit can now break the NHL record for consecutive home victories Tuesday night when they host the Dallas Stars.

Detroit goaltender Joey MacDonald overcame a shaky start to record the win in place of an injured Jimmy Howard. MacDonald ended up making 26 saves on 29 shots including some big saves down the stretch to preserve the history making win.
