Even if the Spartans cannot get highly touted guard Gary Harris, a five-star recruit out of Hamilton-Southeastern, MSU has already turned attention to another highly touted player in guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera of Oak Hill Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alex Kline of TheRecruitScoop.com reports that MSU assistant Dane Fife is leading the charge for Smith-Rivera, who is expected to visit East Lansing later this month.
Smith-Rivera, a four-star recruit according to Scout.com, is a very versitile guard who can play any perimeter position on the floor. In addition to this, because of his 6-3, 215lb frame, he is also able to rebound which is not very common amongst guards.
The Spartans should still go after Harris given his overall talent and true shooting guard ability.
MSU and Purdue are considered the front runners for Harris.
