Source: Players hold protest, several missing from morning shoot around

The problems for Joe Dumars continue to grow…

According to Chris Iott of Mlive.com, several Detroit Pistons players missed the morning shoot around in Philadelphia today while two others showed up at the end as the team prepared for it’s game against the 76ers tonight.

Furthermore, the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News are citing an unnamed source who referred to this situation as a player protest.

A Pistons spokesman said that Tayshaun Prince missed today’s practice due to an upset stomach while Tracy McGrady reportedly missed practice because of a headache. Rip Hamilton and Chris Wilcox missed the bus to the shoot around.

Iott says that Rodney Stuckey and Austin Daye missed the bus to the shoot around as well but arrived towards the end.

Ben Wallace missed practice because of an ongoing family issue which has caused him to miss games and practices in the past.

There is no word yet on how this will effect tonight’s lineup against the 76ers.
