USC QB Sam Darnold and UCLA QB Josh Rosen have some huge cojones considering theyโre probably playing Russian roulette with their NFL careers. That 50/50 chance with either of their future comes via Hue Jackson and the recently 0-16 accomplished Cleveland Browns having a shot at drafting either one of the two with the first overall pick in 2018.
Meanwhile itโs looking as though Rosen will probably be the unfortunate one to get taken by the Brownies unless heโs able to threaten some kind of Eli Manning-esque mutiny against Cleveland and strong arm himself out of the pick.
Via CBS Sports:
While Rosenโs decision seemed like a given, there had been some uncertainty about what Darnold would do. While heโs definitely an intriguing prospect, there are parts of his game that need refining โ particularly the part of his game that leads him to turn the ball over too often โ but the fact of the matter is itโs hard to turn down the NFL when thereโs a good chance youโre going to be a first-round pick.
Itโs unlikely but if thereโs ever a time flat out say you want nothing to do with a team now is the time. But then thereโs the paycheck either one of the two will pass up in that sense.
