According to a Kansas City Royals press release, the team has come to terms on a minor league contract with free agent pitcher and former Tiger Zach Miner. Miner (28) was out of action for much of last season with the Tigers after having elbow surgery late in May.
In four seasons with the Tigers, Miner had 4.24 ERA with 6.0 K/9 and 4.4 BB/9. Pitching primarily out of the pen the last couple seasons, Miner does have 35 starts to his credit with most of those starts coming in 2006 and 2008.
Miner was designated for assignment this past November by the Tigers but did have some discussions on a contract renewal.
