Royals going to the World Series, but did the Blue Jays get screwed?

Royals

The Kansas City Royals are going back to the World Series, but not without a little controversy after last night’s 4-3 Game 6 win over the Blue Jays.

During the second inning, Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run off David Price to right center giving the Royals a 2-0 lead. However the play was reviewed and eventually upheld after it was thought a fan reached over the wall to catch the perceived home run. If it was determined the fan interfered with the play, the home run would have been taken off the board and ruled a ground rule double.

You make the call yourself.

Good teams overcome bad calls or even questionable calls. However you can’t simply justify what happened in the second inning of last night’s game when you have the possibility of a Game 7 in the ALCS on the line. It’s not like the Royals went on to blow out the Blue Jays, Kansas City won the game by a single run that very well could have been determined by a fan in the outfield.

Canada is pissed and they seem to have good reason to be.

Oh yeah, then there’s this.

I’m not saying there was some conspiracy to keep the Blue Jays out of the World Series. Quite frankly I hate speculation like that. However NFL officiating may not be alone in being some of the worst in all of sports.
