Various reports are surfacing that the Tigers are working on a deal to acquire Seattle starting pitcher Doug Fister.
Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com was one of the first to break the story via his Twitter account.
Fister has become expendable for the Marines with Felix Hernandez heading up the rotation and the emergence of Michael Pineda.
Fister is 3-12 with a 3.33 ERA in 21 starts for the Mariners this season. He has thrown 146 innings and has three complete games.
According to Chris Iott of Mlive.com, Charlie Furbush may be part of a deal to acquire Fister from Seattle.
