According to a report by Matt Charboneau of the Detroit News, MSU’s Korie Lucious will transfer from MSU to another division 1 school. This was announced by his mother Latonia Guider on SpartanNation.com a day after MSU head coach Tom Izzo announced that Korie Lucious would be dismissed from the team for “conduct detrimental to the team”

“I love my son dearly,” Guider said in the statement. “We certainly didn’t want his career at MSU to end this way, but we thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts. Korie will finish the semester at Michigan State and Coach Izzo has said he will help Korie find a new school. We are grateful to God for Coach Izzo and Michigan State. My son has admitted he made mistakes. I ask that people remember him and judge him not just by mistakes, but by the man I believe him to be, and that he will grow into.”

Lucious has had his fair share of off the court troubles. He was suspended at the beginning of this season for being arrested this past summer for a DUI.

He also has had some physical problems as well.

This past September Lucious had surgery on a meniscus tear in his left knee. He also injured his ankle earlier in the season which has limited him.

Lucious is the second player to transfer from the University. Senior-to-be Chris Allen was kicked off the team in August and later transferred to Iowa State.
