It looks like the Los Angeles Dodgers have won the Manny Machado sweepstakes.
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Orioles will trade their All-Star shortstop in what will cap off perhaps one of the darkest days in Baltimore sports history.
Can report with more certainty: Machado to #Dodgers happening. Among remaining questions, in addition to specifics of return beyond OF Yusniel Diaz: How much money, if any, #Orioles will send #Dodgers to secure a better package and help ease LAD’s luxury-tax concerns.

Yeah this sucks for Baltimore fans as arguably the best player to ever wear an Orioles cap will skip town but in the very least Machado’s talent won’t be wasted. Not only was Machado the best player in Baltimore but he’s probably one of the top three best players in the MLB, a league that has seen it’s fair share of young stars be wasted on mediocre to bad teams.
Anyways, I’m guessing we’ll hear more of the specifics regarding the trade later on Wednesday. By the sound of it though LA’s top prospect Yusniel Diaz will be heading to Baltimore along with a number of other minor leaguers.
